40 Nights of Rock Archive: Day 10 video blog - Tendaberry, David Barbe
Scott and Steve wake up in a hotel in Athens, GA, their friend Andy still passed out from the previous night’s shenanigans. Next, they head to Chase Park Transduction studio to meet briefly with legendary producer/engineer/bassist David Barbe. Formerly of the bands Sugar, Mercyland and Buzz Hungry, Barbe has since worked on records by the Drive-By Truckers, R.E.M., Harvey Milk, Bloodkin, Son Volt, Widespread Panic, The Rock*A*Teens and many more. He also currently fronts David Barbe & the Quick Hooks, and is head of the music-business program at the University of Georgia.
Once in Atlanta, the 40 Nights crew ends up at a bizarre house party in Atlanta’s Edgewood neighborhood, where they catch post-punk soul band Tendaberry and friends soundchecking a cover of The Ramones “The KKK Took My Baby Away.”
